Making a Match

At Redwood, we get to work with many wonderful individuals.  They are often involved with Redwood because their son, daughter, or other family member has benefited from Redwood.  Sometimes, they are brought into the Redwood family by a friend touched by the organization.  Regardless of how they became involved, we are always impressed by their passion and commitment.  Through volunteering and donating, these individuals lend us their time, talent, and treasure.  Redwood is a better organization because of them, and working with such caring, compassionate people is a reward of working in philanthropy.

One of the best things about these individuals is their willingness to educate others about Redwood.  Perhaps it is a friend of theirs who serves on a local foundation’s board or a friend who works for a company that may be able to help Redwood.  Maybe it is a neighbor willing to donate a service.  These are true examples, and they have been occurring more frequently since Redwood’s board launched its matchmaking efforts last November.  You can be a matchmaker, too!

Do you have a friend looking to get rid of an item we could use?  Have you overheard a friend say she is in a position where she needs to make a financial gift to a nonprofit?  Perhaps you witnessed someone saying they would like to volunteer.  In each of these scenarios, there is an opportunity for Redwood.  Why not make a match and share your own passion and enthusiasm for helping children and adults with disabilities by mentioning Redwood?
